Green hydrogen can accomplish deep decarbonization — but only if it can scale
Green hydrogen requires economies of scale to be cost competitive with traditional energy sources. Yet investing in infrastructure for a scaled green hydrogen economy requires a known market of green hydrogen adopters.

HyBuild™ aligns multi-sectoral offtakers
From aviation to power generation to cement manufacturing, green hydrogen has the potential to help industries in diverse sectors meet their climate goals affordably and reliably.
And repurposes jobs and infrastructure
Much of the fossil fuel power and gas infrastructure today can be repurposed for a scaled green hydrogen economy, including power plants, pipelines, storage assets, and more. This enables and accelerates a more affordable clean energy transition, and creates opportunities for new skilled and trained jobs for the workforce.

HyBuild™ is a proven concept
HyBuild™ North America is spearheaded by Green Hydrogen Coalition and modeled after HyDeal Ambition, a similar project launched in 2020 in Europe. HyDeal Ambition was founded by GHC Board Member Thierry Lepercq. HyDeal Ambition launched its first industrial implementation of its platform in February 2022, HyDeal España, as the world’s largest integrated renewable and competitive clean hydrogen hub.
HyBuild™ North America’s first stop - Los Angeles
Los Angeles is the inaugural city to accelerate green hydrogen at scale in North America. The city has committed to 100% renewable energy by 2035.
After completing a feasibility study in Phase 1 of the HyBuild™ LA initiative, the GHC discovered that the city can achieve mass scale delivered green hydrogen for under $2.00/kg.
